Feasibility study

Every successful project starts with a feasibility study. The principle here is: the more professional the feasibility study, the better the real-world result.

The feasibility study covers the following three areas:

Map survey
Line-of-sight (LoS) test – radio field survey (path survey)
Site Survey

We first check feasibility using an application tool developed for the map survey based on digital geo-maps. The map survey provides an initial detailed assessment of the performance and business case for the planned project.

Line-of-sight test (LoS, path survey)

Following this initial review, the results from the map survey are cross-referenced with actual on-site conditions during a path survey. The planned antenna locations are physically inspected on-site to verify an unobstructed line of sight. Our staff are, of course, fully trained for working at heights. For our line-of-sight tests, we use appropriately sized aerial work platforms and/or drones equipped with high-resolution cameras.

Site Survey

The site survey is a structural inspection during which all aspects relevant to execution are recorded and coordinated with other trades. This involves capturing all necessary details for coordination with other on-site trades, including the positioning of all equipment (indoor/outdoor), the determination of necessary antenna mounts, equipment cabinets, etc., and the routing of data and power cables. Once the site survey is complete, all the facts are on the table, allowing almost all implementation costs to be derived and determined.

Based on the results of a feasibility study, we create a customized strategy to make your use cases more efficient and successful through the deployment of our solutions.

BNetzA Frequency Management

When using microwave radio systems in the licensed frequency spectrum, an allocation by the Federal Network Agency (BNetzA) is required. We prepare the appropriate frequency application based on the results of a radio link calculation. This includes calculating frequencies, antenna sizes, transmission power, and availability while taking regulatory requirements into account, and we provide a fully pre-filled frequency application for your use. And that’s not all: we are also happy to act as the technical contact for the BNetzA on behalf of the future operator until the final allocation is granted.
