Product description
The 80 GHz frequency band enables data rates of up to 20 Gbit/s, but its range is limited. The challenge: How can the performance of an 80 GHz microwave system be utilized over longer distances?
The solution: Multiband Link Aggregation
This involves coupling two microwave systems of different frequencies via a single antenna—the primary 80 GHz connection and a redundant one using a frequency typical for the distance (e.g., 18 GHz). This achieves high data throughput with availability > 99.99%. In poor weather conditions, the more resilient redundant connection activates automatically, ensuring the required total availability is fully maintained. The result is a massive extension of an 80 GHz microwave link, making data throughput rates of up to 20 Gbit/s FD achievable even for distances >= 10 km!
